Iraqi President Barham Salih said Cooperation and solidarity is the world’s “only choice” in the fight against global terrorism.
Speaking at the UN General Assembly, Salih told fellow world leaders that his country had been dogged by wars and genocides over the past 40 years.
“We have known mass graves, the use of chemical weapons and terrorism all over our cities.”
The Iraqi leader said that victory over “the evil forces of Daesh” would not have been possible without the joint efforts of Iraqi army and police, the Peshmerga on the one hand, and their regional and international allies, on the other.
Salih reiterated his call for the international community to combat funding for terrorism, provide reparations to victims and help rebuild destroyed regions that have been freed from “the yoke of terrorism.”

The commander of Special Forces in Marib Brig. Gen. Saleem Al-Sayyaghi told Saba that a cache of explosives and maps of bomb sites were seized in possession of the Houthi members.
Initial investigations, he said, revealed that those arrested “steered by the Iran-backed Houthi militia” and were tasked with bombing civilian crowds and military leaders.

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi renewed his call for the removal of foreign forces and mercenaries from Libya.
El-Sisi discussed with Khalifa Haftar, commander of the Libyan National Army, and Aqila Saleh, speaker of the House of Representatives, ways to restore security and stability in Libya, and to preserve its sovereignty and unity.
El-Sisi received Libyan officials in Cairo in the presence of Abbas Kamel, head of the Egyptian General Intelligence.
